Development history of iCOSS

COSS - Computeroptimiertes Lagersystem

COSS was developed at the end of the eighties and beginning of the nineties for merchandise management . It was probably the first online system (at that time still using IPTA terminals based on infrared data transmission). COSS ran on most mid-range computers such as MicroVAX, AS/400, Unix (HP, etc.), but also on IBM-OS/2 to IBM mainframes.

COSS V4 WITH RDBMS AND GRAPHICAL INTERFACE

Version 4 of COSS was available from 1995: Relational database and graphical interface (from Windows NT 4.0). Connection of WLAN-capable MDE devices. And, of course, even more functionality for automated warehouses and manual warehouses.

COSS V5 .NET

COSS version 5 was then based on modern Microsoft .NET technology from 2003.

iCOSS - Web WMS

2011 was iCOSS established as the successor product to COSS : Web-based and with support for all intralogistics processes. Platform-independent on the desktop (Windows, Linux, Mac, etc.) and also on mobile devices (MDE): Symbol/Motorola WM6.x, iOS/iPAD, Android, etc. ... all front-end devices with a graphical web browser (with Javascript support) are supported by iCOSS; naturally including barcode scanning 1D, 2D, GS1-128, EAN, etc.

Version 7 of iCOSS is now available and version 8 is already in development.
